Inauguration of Biodiversity Club Activities – Academic Year 2025-2026

The of Biodidiversity Club activities of the year 2025 of Sree Sankara College, Kalady, was formally inaugurated on 03/06/2025 at the college Seminar hall. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. N. Anilkumar, Chairman, Kerala State Biodiversity Board, as the chief guest. Dr. Shintu P.V., Assisitant Professor, Department of Botany and Biodiversity Club Coordinator, delivered the welcome speech by highlighting the importance of biodiversity conservation and the role of students in the conservational efforts and sustainability practices. Prof. (Dr.) Anilkumar M., Principal, Sree Sankara College, addressed the gathering with the presidential address, emphasising the role of educational institutions in promoting conservation, understanding biodiversity and fostering sense of environmental responsibility. Dr. N. Anilkumar inaugurated the club and delivered an inaugural address, stressing the need of conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. The function was facilitated by Dr. P. K Ramachandran, former Ernakulam District Coordinator, Kerala State Biodiversity Board and Sreeraj N.K Ernakulam District Coordinator, Kerala State Biodiversity Board. A vote of thanks was proposed by Kumari Shilpa S., student, Department of Zoology, Sree Sankara College, Kalady, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries and participants. The ceremony marked the formal commencement of the Biodiversity Club’s initiatives for the year, with a focus on enhancing awareness, promoting conservation values, and encouraging active community engagement in biodiversity-related endeavours.
