The Post Graduate & Research Department of Microbiology, Sree Sankara College, Kalady, organized an Alumni Meet on 01-02-2025 in a unique and memorable setting—a houseboat at Kumarakom. The event brought together a total of 20 participants, including 9 alumni members, along with faculty members, both active and retired. The meeting commenced with the President reading the report of the previous year, highlighting key events such as the BIOSPECTRUM seminar conducted at the college. The Cashier then presented the financial report, detailing the expenditures and balances of the alumni association. A significant moment of the event was the celebration of the department’s 30th anniversary, marked by a joyous cake-cutting ceremony. The alumni shared their experiences, professional journeys, and fond memories of their time at the department, creating an engaging and nostalgic atmosphere. A key outcome of the meeting was the decision to conduct the current year’s BIOSPECTRUM seminar, ensuring its continued success. Additionally, it was decided that batch-wise visits to the department would be arranged, allowing alumni to interact with present students, mentor them, and provide career guidance. The alumni also pledged to support placement opportunities for students, strengthening their transition into professional careers.

To add to the excitement of the gathering, fun games and interactive activities were organized, making the event both enjoyable and meaningful.
