The department of Environment Science and Management of Sree Sankara College, Kalady organised an experiential learning-based visit to Aluva water treatment plant on 1-10-24, based on their Environmental Engineering studies and Environmental Pollution syllabus. 22 students joined the visit under the guidance of faculties Ms. Amrutha P N, Dr. Ambili M S, Ms. Bilka Johny, Ms. Sajana Florance Peter. A class regarding the water treatment processes carried out at the plant was arranged by the Kerala Water Authority. Followed by, a live class was given by a professional explaining the capacity and functioning of the plant, each stage of treatment processes as well as the reagents used.
From the demonstration of water purification process, students got an opportunity to experience the water treatment methods and get a deep understanding regarding the same.
