The Department of B.Voc Honours in Renewable Energy Management organized an Industrial Visit (IV) to a windmill farm at Ahalia Campus, Palakkad, in collaboration with the Ahalia Group.
The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to wind energy systems and their real-world applications. During the session, students were introduced to the working principles of wind turbines, including components such as blades, nacelle, generator, and tower, along with the process of electricity generation from wind energy.
Experts at the site explained the installation, operation, and maintenance aspects of windmills, giving students a clear understanding of how wind energy contributes to sustainable power generation. The visit also highlighted the importance of renewable energy sources in reducing environmental impact and meeting future energy demands.
Faculty members accompanied the students, guiding them throughout the visit and facilitating interactive learning. The IV served as an informative and hands-on experience, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical insights in the field of renewable energy.
