On January 1, 2025, Ciphers, the Mathematical Association of Sree Sankara College, Kalady, organized the third session of their online webinar series. The event was held virtually and aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of mathematics through engaging discussions on foundational concepts.
The program commenced with a prayer led by Amritha AS, a second-year B.Sc. Mathematics student. This was followed by a warm welcome speech delivered by Smt. Mathu KB, a faculty member of the Department of Mathematics, who set the tone for the session.
The session, titled “When Real Numbers Get Closer,” was conducted by Ms. Anjali V A, a research scholar from the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). She focused on the basic concepts of Real Analysis, presenting them in an accessible and simplified manner. Her explanation helped participants understand the foundational aspects of the subject and its importance in the field of mathematics.
Following the lecture, a feedback session was conducted by Lakshmi MB, a second-year B.Sc. Mathematics student, who shared her thoughts on the session and the effectiveness of the presentation. The program concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Anjali PJ, a second-year B.Sc. Mathematics student, who expressed gratitude to the speaker, attendees, and organizers for their participation.
The entire event was smoothly anchored by Anjali PJ, ensuring the session ran on time and was engaging throughout.
