The Department of Hindi, Sree Sankara College, Kalady, organized the Hindi Association Inauguration 2025–26 and Orientation Programme on 10 October 2025 at 10.30 a.m. in the Sree Chandrasekhara Bharati Seminar Hall. The programme was conducted with the objective of introducing the activities of the Hindi Association for the academic year and orienting students towards the significance, scope, and future prospects of Hindi language and literature.
The function was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Anil Kumar M., Principal, Sree Sankara College, Kalady. In his presidential address, he emphasized the relevance of Hindi as a link language and encouraged students to actively participate in the activities of the association. He also appreciated the efforts of the Department of Hindi in fostering linguistic and cultural awareness.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Babu K. Viswanath, Department of Hindi, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, delivered an enlightening orientation lecture on the topic “हिन्दी : संदर्भ एवं संभावनाएँ” (Hindi: Context and Possibilities). He discussed the contemporary relevance of Hindi, its expanding role in education, media, translation, tourism, administration, and employment sectors. He also elaborated on the numerous career opportunities available to students of Hindi and inspired them to develop their language skills and literary interests.
The interactive session that followed enabled students to engage with the speaker and clarify their doubts regarding higher studies, research opportunities, translation studies, and career prospects in Hindi. The session proved to be highly informative and motivating for the participants.A large number of students from the Department of Hindi attended the programme with enthusiasm. The event successfully created awareness about the academic and professional possibilities associated with Hindi studies and marked the beginning of a vibrant year of association activities.
