The Department of Sanskrit, Sree Sankara College, Kalady, organized the Gurupoornima celebration on 10 July 2025 with great reverence and enthusiasm. The programme was conducted to honor the timeless tradition of Guru-Shishya parampara and to express gratitude towards teachers.
The event commenced with a formal inauguration by Prof. (Dr.) M. Anilkumar, Principal of the college. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the significance of Gurupoornima in Indian culture and emphasized the vital role of teachers in shaping individuals and society.
The highlight of the programme was the invited talk delivered by Sri. Suresh Srikandheswarath. His insightful lecture shed light on the philosophical and cultural dimensions of the Guru tradition, inspiring both students and faculty alike.
Dr. V. V. Anilkumar offered felicitation, appreciating the efforts of the Department of Sanskrit in organizing such a meaningful event and encouraging students to uphold the values imparted by their teachers.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. K. N. Harikrishna Sharma, who expressed sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, speakers and participants for making the event a success.
