PG and Research Department of Microbiology, Sree Sankara College, Kalady, formed an association with Students and Teachers of the Department on 2nd September 2024. Dr. Valsa A K, Retired Associate Professor & HOD, Post Graduate and Research Department of Microbiology, Sree Sankara College, Kalady officially inaugurated “MICROVISTA”, The Association of Microbiology.

The programme commenced at 2.00 pm at PG and Research Department of Microbiology, Sree Sankara College, Kalady. Dr. Sumi Mary George, Head of the Department, delivered the welcome address. The program was chaired by the esteemed principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Anilkumar. M. Dr. Valsa A K, Retired Associate Professor & HOD, Post Graduate and Research Department of Microbiology, Sree Sankara College, Kalady delivered the inaugural address and officially inaugurated the event. During the ceremony, she also unveiled the logo and name of the association, ‘MICROVISTA’ 2024. Ms. Nayan Julia Saji, Secretary of the Association delivered the vote of thanks. The inaugural session was succeeded by an insightful talk by Dr. Valsa A. K., who emphasized “The Importance of Biochemistry in the Microbiology Syllabus.” She also acquainted the first-year students with the campus, infrastructure, course structure, career development opportunities, and the marking system for the MG University PGCSS examination. Selection of student coordinators, planning of events and programmes under ‘MICROVISTA’ were also the main agenda of the programme.
