The Department of Microbiology at Sree Sankara College, Kalady, proudly launched the “Nobel Laureate Club – The Life Saving Luminaries” on 27th January 2025. The event commenced with a warm Welcome Address by Anjela Maria, setting the stage for the insightful discussions to follow.
Inaugural Address was delivered by Prof. (Dr) AnilKumar M, Principal of Sree Sankara College, Kalady. He emphasized the significance of recognizing and celebrating groundbreaking scientific achievements and their impact on humanity. He expressed his enthusiastic support for the club and its mission to inspire young minds.
Prof. (Dr) Sumi Mary George, HOD, Post Graduate and Research Department of Microbiology, extended a heartfelt Felicitation to all attendees. She highlighted the importance of learning from the brilliance of Nobel Laureates and their contributions to the field of microbiology.
The event featured a captivating Technical Session by Niranjana Menon, a II year BSc Microbiology student. Her presentation focused on the pioneering work of Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun, the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine recipients, for their groundbreaking discoveries on the role of microRNAs in gene regulation.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Marzook Majeed, Event Coordinator. He expressed gratitude to all attendees, faculty members, and the college administration for their support in making the launch of the Nobel Laureate Club a resounding success.
