The Department of Mathematics, Sree Sankara College, Kalady, successfully inaugurated its Mathematics Association, “Ciphers – Unravelling Complex Problems”, on 21st August 2024 at 2 PM in the Chandrasekhara Bharathi Seminar Hall. The event was graced by the presence of Sri Jebin Jacob, Head of the Department of Mathematics, Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College, Valayanchirangara, as the chief guest.
The program commenced with a solemn prayer by Amrutha A S, creating an auspicious atmosphere for the event. Gadha Reji, a first-year student, delivered the welcome address, extending a warm greeting to the dignitaries, faculty members, and students present. The inauguration of the Mathematics Association was carried out by the chief guest, Sri Jebin Jacob, who expressed his enthusiasm for fostering mathematical curiosity and problemsolving skills among students. Following the inauguration, Abhijith Binu, the Association Secretary, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the goals and vision of the association. The event witnessed felicitations from eminent personalities, including the Principal, Prof. Dr. Anilkumar M, and the Head of the Department, Smt. Essy C Cherian, who congratulated the department on this initiative and highlighted the significance of mathematics in daily life and future endeavours.
Post the formal inauguration, Sri Jebin Jacob delivered an enlightening talk on “Application of Fuzzy Graphs in Traffic”, which captivated the audience with its innovative insights and practical applications in real-world scenarios. The program concluded with vibrant cultural performances by the students, showcasing their talent and creativity. Arundathy A N, a firstyear student, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event.
The inauguration of Ciphers – unravelling Complex Problems was an inspiring and memorable occasion, marking the beginning of a series of initiatives to enrich the mathematical journey of the students at Sree Sankara College, Kalady.
