The Post Graduate and Research Department of Microbiology, Sree Sankara College, Kalady, successfully organized the “NEXUS IDEATHON” as part of the National Science Day celebrations, reinforcing the importance of scientific innovation in addressing real-world challenges. The event was conducted under the guidance of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) as part of its continuous commitment to nurturing creativity and entrepreneurship among students.
Held under the theme “Ideate, Innovate, Implement: A Student-Led Revolution to Bridge Campus to Communities”, the Ideathon encouraged students to think critically and develop implementable solutions within the college setting. The initiative provided a platform for students to present impactful ideas with real-world relevance, aligning with the college’s vision to cultivate socially responsible and innovation-driven graduates.
The event was open to all students, who were encouraged to participate either individually or in teams of 3 to 5 members. Participants were required to develop genuine and innovative ideas that could be realistically implemented on campus. As per the guidelines, each team presented their ideas using creative formats such as slides, posters, and visual aids, and adhered strictly to the ideathon schedule. A cash prize of ₹5000/- had been announced; however, as the jury did not find any idea meeting the
criteria of being the best or satisfactorily implementable, the prize was not awarded. Nevertheless, all participants were presented with certificates in recognition of their effort, creativity, and active engagement.
