Students and faculty members of the Post Graduate and Research Department of Microbiology, Sree Sankara College, Kalady, enthusiastically participated in the 37th Kerala Science Congress held from February 7th to 10th, 2025, at the Kerala Agricultural University, Vellanikkara, Thrissur. The team engaged in various scientific activities, including attending technical sessions, exploring research and innovation exhibits, and taking part in the startup conclave. The most remarkable highlight of their participation was the selection of second-year postgraduate (PG II) students from the department for the prestigious Postgraduate Student Interaction session. This exclusive platform was designed to bring together bright PG students and eminent scientists, offering a unique opportunity for students to interact directly with leading academicians and researchers. The session focused on guiding young minds by discussing current research trends, future opportunities, and potential career and research pathways. The PG II students from the department made the most of this opportunity by actively participating in discussions, gaining valuable insights, and receiving mentorship that would aid them in shaping their future academic and research pursuits. This interaction not only boosted their confidence but also inspired them to explore higher research goals and innovative approaches in their respective fields. The overall participation in the Science Congress significantly enriched the academic and professional outlook of the students and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to fostering scientific excellence and research-oriented learning.
