Post Graduate Department of Environment Science and Management conducted a study trip to Central Water Commission, a full climatic station at Neeleswaram, Malayattor to familiarise the students about various weather monitoring equipment’s. 19 students and 4 faculties of the department benefited from the programme.
The Neeleeswaram observation site managed by Central Water Commission located within the Kochi subdivision houses the office of the Junior Engineer and features a dedicated laboratory for water quality testing. The officials demonstrated the working of various hydrological and meteorological data collection instruments and the methods in which the safety and quality of water resources are monitored.
Students were enabled to familiarise with the use of various weather monitoring equipments and water sampling techniques. Students became capable to analyse and interpret the datas which is recorded as part of weather monitoring
