The inaugural session of the online webinar series, hosted by the Ciphers Mathematics Association with support from the IQAC Smart Scheme, was held on October 5, 2024. The chosen topic, “Essence of Linear Algebra,” aimed to provide attendees with foundational insights into linear algebra and its real-world applications.
The event began with a prayer led by Amrutha A. S., setting a serene and focused tone for the session. The Head of the Department of Mathematics, Smt. Essy C. Cherian, warmly welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of linear algebra in mathematics and other fields. The core session was conducted by the esteemed resource person, Smt. Rinusha T. R. The class explored fundamental concepts of linear algebra, covering key topics such as vector spaces, linear transformations, and matrices. Smt. Rinusha emphasized practical applications of linear algebra in everyday life, illustrating its relevance to various mathematical and technological domains.
A feedback session followed the lecture, where Christo Martin, a participating student, shared positive reflections on the session’s clarity, depth, and engaging content. The feedback highlighted the practical insights gained and the applicability of linear algebra beyond academics. Lakshmi M. B. expressed sincere gratitude to the resource person, the organizing committee, and the attendees.
