The Department of Mathematics successfully concluded its final session of the ongoing webinar series with an enlightening talk held on 10th February 2025 at 7:30 PM. The session focused on the theme “The Art and Math of Convexity” and was part of the department’s commitment to fostering deep mathematical thinking and academic excellence.
The session began with a graceful prayer by Amrutha, a second-year student, creating a serene and respectful atmosphere. The Head of the Department of Mathematics, Smt. Essy C. Cherian, warmly welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of linear algebra in mathematics and other fields. Prof. Dr. Anil Kumar, Principal, delivered the felicitation address, commending the department for successfully conducting a knowledge-rich series and thanked the speaker for her contribution. Smt. Sandhya R captivated the audience with her engaging presentation, exploring the geometric elegance and analytical foundations of convexity. Her talk skillfully bridged the gap between mathematical theory and visual intuition, leaving a lasting impression on participants.
The feedback session was a heartfelt and interactive part of the evening. It was initiated by Christo, a student representative, who eloquently expressed his appreciation for the speaker and the department. Other participants also contributed through the chat and verbal feedback, praising the clarity of explanation, the speaker’s passion for the subject, and the well-organized nature of the event. Several students mentioned that the webinar inspired them to explore advanced geometry and mathematical modeling further. Lakshmi M B concluded the program by thanking the speaker, dignitaries, organizing team, and all participants for their support throughout the series.
