Vivekananda Jayanti, celebrated as National Youth Day, was observed with great enthusiasm on 12th January 2026 at 10:30 AM in the Mini Seminar Hall of the Sri Sri Vidhu Sekhara Bharati Block. The programme aimed to inspire students by reflecting on the ideals and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
The event commenced with a prayer at 10:30 AM, creating a serene and respectful atmosphere. This was followed by the welcome address delivered by Dr. Harikrishna Sharma K N, Assistant Professor of Sanskrit, who warmly greeted the gathering and highlighted the importance of the day.
The programme was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Anilkumar M, Principal, who served as the Chairperson. In his presidential address, he emphasized the relevance of Vivekananda’s teachings in shaping responsible and confident youth.
The keynote address was delivered by Sri P. V. Rajaraman, Assistant Professor and CTO, ASIET. His speech was insightful and motivating, focusing on the role of youth in nation-building and the importance of discipline, innovation, and self-belief.
Felicitations were offered by Dr. Rupesh R, IQAC Member, who appreciated the efforts taken to organize the programme and encouraged students to imbibe the values of dedication and service.
The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Suvarnani Antherjanam S, HoD of Sanskrit, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organizers for making the event a success.
Following the formal session, at 11:30 AM, an Elocution and Debate competition was conducted. Students actively participated and expressed their views on topics related to youth empowerment and the ideals of Vivekananda, making the session lively and thought-provoking.
