Electoral Literacy Club is a platform to sensitize students on their electoral rights and to familiarise them with the electoral process of registration and voting. The club targets the new voters (in the age group of 18-21 years old) pursuing their graduation.
Objective
- Electoral literacy club aims at inculcating the culture of electoral participation among young and future voters.
- To promote awareness of ‘Right to vote’ among students, faculty members and community at large.
Functions
- To educate the young population about voter rights, voter registration, the electoral process, and related matters through hands-on experience.
- To educate the future voters about enrolment, and other electoral process like EVM/VVPAT.
- To help the youth understand the value of their vote and exercise their right to vote in a confident, comfortable and ethical manner.
- To enable critical thinking on issues related to election rights, democracies and its processes.
- To develop a culture of electoral participation and maximize the ethical voting and follow the principle ‘Every vote counts’ and ‘No voters to be left behind’.
