The Department of Biotechnology organized an industrial visit to Omicsgen Life Sciences on 22 February 2025 for final-year Biotechnology students. The visit was aimed at providing students with industry exposure and insights into advanced applications of biotechnology.
The session began with an engaging introduction by Dr. Beena P. S., Director of the institution, who spoke about entrepreneurship in biotechnology. She highlighted the essential qualities required to become a successful entrepreneur and provided valuable guidance on establishing incubation centres and start-ups in the life sciences sector.
Students were introduced to a range of advanced laboratory and analytical techniques, including molecular biology methods, DNA sequencing technologies, gene expression analysis, and bioinformatics tools. The session also provided an overview of the various research and diagnostic services offered by the organization.
