The Department of Biotechnology, Sree Sankara College, Kalady, marked a significant milestone by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Primordia LifeSciences Pvt. Ltd. on 27 February 2025. This collaboration was initiated with the objective of strengthening skill-based education and providing students with hands-on training in essential molecular biology techniques.

The MoU focuses on equipping students with practical expertise in core laboratory methods such as DNA isolation, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), gel electrophoresis, and other fundamental experimental techniques. These skills are crucial for higher studies, research, and career advancement in the life sciences sector. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, thereby enhancing students’ employability and research competence.

It is noteworthy that the association with Primordia LifeSciences Pvt. Ltd. builds upon an existing academic collaboration. In the previous academic year, an add-on course conducted jointly by the department and the organization received positive feedback and provided students with valuable laboratory exposure. This successful engagement laid the foundation for formalizing the partnership through the present MoU.
